Connect WhatsApp Manually with Cloud API

Connect an existing Meta app, WABA and business number to Wemblo using verified IDs, a system-user token and webhook.

WHEN TO USE MANUAL SETUP

Use Manual Cloud API when the business already controls the Meta developer app and WhatsApp assets, needs direct technical control or cannot use the guided authorization flow.

REQUIRED VALUES

Business Portfolio ID: Identifies the Meta business.

App ID: Identifies the Meta developer app.

WABA ID: Identifies the WhatsApp Business Account.

Phone Number ID: Identifies the registered API phone number.

Registered Number: Customer-facing business phone number.

System-User Access Token: Protected server-to-server credential.

Callback URL: Wemblo endpoint receiving Meta events.

Verify Token: Setup value used during webhook verification.

PROVIDER-SIDE STEPS

  1. Open https://developers.facebook.com/.
  2. Open the correct Meta app.
  3. Add or open the WhatsApp product.
  4. Open WhatsApp -> API Setup or the current Cloud API setup area.
  5. Confirm the selected WABA.
  6. Confirm the registered business phone number.
  7. Copy the WABA ID.
  8. Copy the Phone Number ID.
  9. Copy the App ID from the app dashboard.
  10. Open Meta Business Settings and copy the Business Portfolio ID from Business Info.
  11. Create or select a system user.
  12. Assign the app and WhatsApp assets.
  13. Generate a suitable access token with the required permissions.

WEMBLO-SIDE STEPS

  1. Open Wemblo -> Integrations -> WhatsApp.
  2. Choose Manual Setup.
  3. Enter the Business Portfolio ID.
  4. Enter the App ID.
  5. Enter the WABA ID.
  6. Enter the Phone Number ID.
  7. Enter the registered number in international format.
  8. Paste the system-user token into the protected field.
  9. Save.
  10. Copy the Wemblo callback URL and verify token.
  11. Configure the Meta webhook.
  12. Run inbound and outbound tests.

COMMON MAPPING ERRORS

WABA ID entered as Phone Number ID: Messages will fail or use the wrong resource.

Verify token entered as access token: API authorization will fail.

Temporary developer token used in production: Connection will stop when the token expires.

App from a different Business Portfolio: Permission or asset errors occur.

Whitespace copied with a token: Authorization may fail.
