WhatsApp Cloud API

Setup Requirements

To connect WhatsApp with Wemblo, your business needs access to WhatsApp Cloud API through Meta.

This setup allows Wemblo to send and receive WhatsApp messages for your business number.

What you need before starting

Prepare the following:

  • Meta Business account
  • Meta Developer app
  • WhatsApp Business Account
  • Business phone number
  • Phone Number ID
  • WhatsApp Business Account ID
  • Access token
  • Webhook verify token
  • Callback URL from Wemblo
  • Approved message templates, if you want to send business-initiated messages

Phone number requirements

Your phone number should:

  • Belong to your business
  • Be able to receive OTP by SMS or voice call
  • Not be actively connected to the normal WhatsApp mobile app during Cloud API setup
  • Have a display name that matches your business identity

Important: Once a number is connected to WhatsApp Cloud API, your team normally manages it from Wemblo instead of the normal WhatsApp mobile app.

Recommended setup approach

If this is your first time, use a test number first. After successful testing, connect your official business number.

Recommended order:

  1. Prepare Meta Business access.
  2. Add or prepare a test number.
  3. Connect test number with Wemblo.
  4. Test inbound and outbound messages.
  5. Test templates and campaigns.
  6. Train your team.
  7. Connect your official business number.

Important security rules

Do not share these details publicly:

  • Access token
  • App secret
  • API keys
  • Webhook secret
  • System-user token

Treat these values like passwords.
